A funnel is a passive container.
When your funnel leaks, the prescribed fix is always more traffic. More ads. More content. More cold DMs. The system is the leak ā adding water doesn't fix the bucket.
A vortex is an active force.
1. Direction of force. Funnel = you push people through. Vortex = your value pulls them in.
2. Energy source. Funnel = your money, time, and attention. You burn out. Vortex = compounding value. Each piece of value adds to the spin. It builds itself.
3. Filtering mechanism. Funnel = the filter is gravity (people drop out randomly). Vortex = the filter is fit (only Interested + Qualified people accelerate toward the center).
If you're using a funnel: every new client costs more than the last. Acquisition is a tax you pay forever.
If you're using a vortex: every new piece of value lowers your cost of the next client. You're building an asset, not paying rent.
Brad's rule: if growing means doing more of the thing that's already exhausting you, you don't have a business. You have a job that pretends to be a business. The vortex turns the job back into a business.
Action in 10 minutes: Pick ONE thing on your current funnel that requires your energy to keep moving (an ad budget, a sales DM cycle, a content treadmill). Write down what value asset would replace it ā something that, once built, pulls people in on its own. That's the first mouth of your vortex.
