1 — Are You Actually Ready? (The Diagnostic)
Eight honest yes/no questions that tell you whether you're ready for the intermediate track — or whether you're already there and can't tell. No shame in either answer.
The premise: most people who think they're "stuck at beginner" are actually mid-intermediate and can't tell — because nobody drew the line. Here's the line.
The eight questions
Answer honestly. Count your yeses.
- Do you have at least one agent running weekly without you re-prompting it from scratch?
- Have you saved something to
/rememberthat you've actually recalled and used later? - Have you retired an agent or automation that wasn't earning its keep?
- Has an agent produced something you shipped to a real audience — a post, a page, an email — without a full rewrite?
- Have you given an agent a tool (calendar, messages, files) rather than just a chat window?
- When output comes back wrong, do you fix the direction rather than trying seventeen prompt variations?
- Have you run the same workflow through an agent at least three weeks running?
- Have two of your agents (or an agent and an automation) ever handed work to each other?
Your score
- 0–2 yeses — stay in the beginner track, on purpose. Not a failure; you need reps, not concepts. Go run One Hour to Agents end-to-end and the Cheat Sheet buckets until three of these flip to yes. Come back in two weeks — this series will wait.
- 3–5 yeses — you're exactly who this series is for. The next two pieces will feel like someone finally naming things you half-knew. Keep going.
- 6–8 yeses — you're already intermediate. Skip ahead to piece 3 and pick your track — you don't need the pep talk in the middle.
Before you move on
Write down your top three current bottlenecks — the three places work piles up or dies in your business. One line each. Piece 3 uses them to route you, and vague answers route vaguely.
Next: the three mental shifts that separate beginner agent work from intermediate — the vocabulary every framework past this point assumes.
