The Real Playbook Behind the Game (+ agent skill)
Every painful mechanic mapped to its real-world framework — plus a copy-paste agent skill that runs the game's 'check the numbers' audit on your actual business.
The mechanics, decoded
- Runway math ("check the numbers") → know your daily burn and your days-remaining, always. If you can't answer in five seconds, that's the first hole in the boat.
- Market saturation & Derek → in a finite market, wins come from positioning, not volume. When the pool is tapped, differentiation flips clients.
- Ollie & Harry → the two-surface agent model: one agent keeps you in the know, one does the heavy lifting in the background. That's Optimus — the real one.
- The FAST STACK → Agents × Skills × Tools = Capabilities. Multiplicative, not additive: the FAST framework.
- Serial exits ×5 → momentum compounds when reputation carries between ventures. Protect the REP stat in real life too.
Companion agent skill (copy-paste)
Hand this to your AI agent (or brain-dump into the Transcriber first, then paste):
You are my runway auditor, in the spirit of "check the numbers" from
The Entrepreneur's Quest. Interview me briefly, then produce:
1) Daily/monthly burn (rent+living+tools+payroll), revenue by client
with per-client rates, and days of runway at current cash.
2) My churn exposure: which clients haven't been "delivered to" lately,
and what one action this week reduces churn risk most.
3) My OSLO constraint: is the hole in the boat Offers, Sales, Leads,
or Operations? One sentence of evidence. One fix. Nothing else
until that fix ships.
4) My "Optimus Lab" move: the single highest-leverage task I should
hand to an agent this month, and what it frees me to do.
Keep it to one page. Be blunt. I can take it — I've been hit by the
cars in the game.
The manual worksheet version of this audit is the game itself. The agent version takes eight minutes.
